Professor/Consultant Psychiatrist Psychiatry
Professor Aiden Corvin (MB, PhD, MRCPsych, FTCD) is Professor of Psychiatry at Trinity College Dublin (SJH) and a Consultant Psychiatrist with the Dublin South Central Mental Service. He is the Clinical Director with this service at St James's Hospital. Prof. Corvin works with an international community of researchers to improve understanding of the genetic basis of psychiatric disorders with the aim of improving patient care.

My research interests lie in the application of existing methodology and the development of novel approaches to further our understanding of the underlying genomic mechanisms for complex disorders. I also apply my biostatistical expertise in broader medical research contexts.

I am an Associate Professor in Clinical Psychology and Neuropsychology. My interdisciplinary research focuses on; i) how psychology/psychiatry can help inform the development of the legal right to freedom of thought; ii) causes of and interventions for auditory verbal hallucinations ('hearing voices'), and; iii) the neural, physical, and mental health impacts of child abuse and what can be done to prevent such abuse.
