Welcome to the Discipline of Pharmacology & Therapeutics

Professor Michael Barry, Head of Discipline

Pharmacology can be described as the study of drugs and their origin, nature, properties and effects upon living organisms.

Therapeutics branch of medicine concerned with the treatment of disease.

The Discipline of Pharmacology was created in 1960 with the Chair in Pharmacology being established in 1962. We are located on two sites, St James's Hospital and the Trinity campus in the heart of Dublin.
