The research programmes in the Centre for Health Policy and Management aim to strengthen health systems by improving the evidence base around financing, priority setting and service delivery in health services, particularly in Ireland. There is a particular focus on equity in access to care, the effects of ageing and demographic change, human resources, management of chronic disease, the perspective of the user and the politics and process of reform. Other areas of interest include the evaluation of cancer screening and treatment programmes and measurement of efficiency. The Centre hosts the TCD component of the Health Services Research Institute, the collaboration with RCSI and UCC, and is closely involved in the Irish Longitudinal Study on Ageing.
