Directions to Teaching Hospitals
The Trinity Centre for Health Sciences, St. James's Hospital
The Trinity Centre for Health Sciences is situated on the hospital grounds adjacent to hospitals 1 and 2. The building was opened in September 1994 and provides purpose built accommodation for teaching and research.
Facilities include; lecture theatres, seminar rooms, a pc room, a library, a teaching laboratory, research laboratories, a staff/student common room and a cafe. In addition, it houses the departmental accommodation for the School of Medicine disciplines of; Clinical Medicine, Surgery, Therapeutics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Psychiatry, Nutrition and Dietetics. Located close by are the St James’s Hospital School of Nursing, the William Stokes Postgraduate Centre, the Sir Patrick Dun Research Laboratory and the Disciplines of Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Radiation Therapy.
Directions
By Bus
The 123 passes through the Hospital and stops on the main road, outside the concourse, and also across from Hospital 1 entrance. From the city centre, the 40 and 13 stop at the James’s Street entrance. The 68 stops on the South Circular Road close to the Rialto Gate entrance.
By Train
The nearest train station is Heuston Station. For more information about train services please check www.irishrail.ie or Locall 1850 366222. On foot, Heuston station is about a 15 minute walk to the Hospital.
By Luas
The Hospital is accessible by the Red Luas Line and the approximate travel time from the city centre is approximately 20 minutes (see map and information regarding times below).
By Car
There is a public underground car park located off Junction 2. Set-down facilities are located close to each Hospital Entrance.
The Trinity Centre for Health Sciences, Tallaght University Hospital
The Trinity Centre for Health Sciences is situated on the hospital grounds towards the back of the Hospital and adjacent to the Education Centre. The building was opened in 2000 and provides purpose built accommodation for teaching and research.
Facilities include; lecture theatre, seminar rooms, clinical skills room, a pc room, research laboratories and a cafe. In addition, it houses the departmental accommodation for the School of Medicine disciplines of; Clinical Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, Psychiatry, Public Health & Primary Care.

By Bus
The following buses from the city centre stop at the entrance to the Hospital: 49, 54A, 65, 65B, 77A.

By Taxi
A taxi from the centre of Dublin to the Hospital will cost approximately €30. Please note this amount is approximate and is given as an indication only.
By Luas
The Hospital is accessible by the Luas Red Line. From the city centre, the travel time is approximately 45 minutes (see map and information regarding times below). The Hospital is adjacent to the second last stop called "Hospital".
By Car
There is a public car park located opposite the main hospital building. Set - down facilities are located close to the Hospital Entrance.
