Glucksman Map Library

Welcome to the Glucksman Map Library, the centre for cartographic materials in Trinity College Library. The Library holds over half a million maps and atlases making it the largest collection of printed maps in Ireland. It includes rare older material as well as modern mapping. The collections are particularly strong on maps of Ireland and Great Britain, but they also include coverage of Europe, Africa and the rest of the world at less detailed scales.

The Map Library is available to students and staff of Trinity College Dublin who wish to consult cartographic materials. We are located in the Ussher Basement and open at the same time as the interim Research Collections Reading Room from Monday to Thursday. Readers are encouraged to contact us at map.library@tcd.ie before they visit to clarify what they need and to allow material to be retrieved in advance.

Readers from outside the university are welcome should they wish to consult maps not available elsewhere in Dublin. They should contact us to arrange an appointment and access to the Library. Email us at map.library@tcd.ie. The Map Library continues to provide a virtual service for remote business and professional readers on a fee basis.
