Trinity on the Move’ team of staff and students participating in the 2019 Great Dublin Bike Ride, on Sunday, 29 September 2019 to fund raise for Trinity’s Postgraduate Student Hardship Fund.
The Provost, Dr Patrick Prendergast has joined the ‘Trinity on the Move’ team of staff (featuring our very own Neville Cox and David Prendergast) and students participating in the 2019 Great Dublin Bike Ride to fund raise for Trinity’s Postgraduate Student Hardship Fund.
Though not widely known, postgraduate students often face unforeseen financial problems that seriously impede their ability to complete their studies. The Senior Tutor’s Office/Postgraduate Advisory Service operate a student hardship fund, but the need is far greater than can be matched by the limited resources in this fund,” explained Professor Neville Cox, Dean of Graduate Studies who will be cycling in this event.
We receive applications to our hardship fund every year from students who cannot afford rent, who may need to drop out of studies or who, for multiple other reasons are really struggling. We hope that ‘Trinity cyclists’ will raise much needed funds for this incredibly good cause, the Dean continued.
To support this very worthy cause, you can register for the Great Dublin Bike Ride 2019 or sponsor a ‘Trinity on the Move’ rider through the go fund me page (links above).
