Sarah Honan, LL.B. student presents at the International Association of Genocide Scholars Conference 2019 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia
Sarah Honan, Senior Sophister LL.B. student, delivered a presentation on the topic of "Genocidal Masculinity: a Criminological Perspective on Gender Construction and Performance During the Yazidi Genocide" at the International Association of Genocide Scholars Conference 2019. This was co-hosted by the American University of Phnom Penh and Rutgers University with over 450 international delegates from 15-19 July 2019. The multi-disciplinary conference took place in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on the 40th anniversary of the fall of the Khmer Rouge under the theme “The Missing Picture: Rethinking Genocide Studies and Prevention.” Thus, under-researched genocides, comparative analyses, and critical and creative work intending to challenge or revisit current conceptions of genocide and genocide studies were explored.
