Trinity Law Student's win Yap Ireland Best Student Podcast Award
A podcast hosted by three Trinity Law student 's has been named Ireland's Best Student Podcast at the Yap Ireland Podcast Awards.
The award winning podcast hosted by Alex MacDonnell, Gavin Dowd (SS Business and Law) and Pierce O'Mears (SS Law and German) was established in March 2020, having noticed a gap in the market for true crime podcasts. The focus of the podcast titled Legally Fond is to entertain law students, make law more accessible and start a discussion regarding social issues that the law has a tangible effect on. Since launching the podcast has had over 2,200 listens and has been awarded Yap Ireland Best Student Podcast at the YAP Ireland Podcast Awards, sponsored by Newstalk and EY. The podcast has covered issues such as adverse possession, compulsory vaccinations, defamation and has interviewed Senator Ivana Bacik and Professor David Kenny both from Trinity College Law School.
