With the new academic commencing year today 28 September 2020, the idea of learning in an online environment may be daunting for many new and returning students. For new students the experience of attending the first day of University will be different to any other year as teaching has moved online due to the recent restrictions relating to COVID-19. For returning students, the new academic year will also be different to last year. Some may find disadvantages to online teaching and the restrictions it can have on interaction with academics and peers. Third year Law and Business student Ruby Porter chats to the Irish Times about the advantages of learning in an online virtual environment, and shares her typical day/week outlining the positive elements of online learning.
