Gradlink Mentoring Programme - Call for Mentors

The School of Law would like to invite alumni to consider participating in our GradLink Mentoring Programme for Law 2018-19. The programme aims to develop current students’ knowledge of the labour market and career paths, through supportive career learning relationships with alumni mentors working in a range of career areas. Students benefit enormously from the exchange of ideas with alumni and the programme also helps to develop their confidence and social skills.

For their part, alumni often feel that as well as ‘giving something back’ to their former School and keeping in touch with College, they benefit on a personal level.

What's Involved:

Volunteering as a mentor involves attending the launch event (15th October at 7:00 pm) and meeting with your assigned student/s on approximately three occasions during the year. The focus of these meetings is generally professional development and other career-related topics. The time commitment of the programme for mentors is approximately 10 hours.

Criteria: Graduates will ideally have 3+ years professional experience, be based in the Dublin region and available to attend the launch event listed on the registration pa

The Launch Event:

As part of the launch event, we ask each graduate to speak for one to two minutes to give students an overview of their career to date and what you can offer potential mentees. Following this, we will host a reception for the mentors, students and academic staff from the School.

Our GradLink launch event will take place on Monday, 15th October 2018 at 7 pm in the Long Room Hub and will be hosted by representatives from the School of Law, the Careers Advisory Service and the Development and Alumni Office.
