Irish Corporate Governance Code

Irish Corporate Governance Code published - 24 September 2024.

On 24 September, Euronext Dublin published the first Irish Corporate Governance Code. The Code sets out a series of principles and more detailed provisions aimed at establishing a high standard of corporate governance focused on long-term sustainable success. Previously Irish companies listed in Ireland followed the UK Corporate Governance Code. Professor Blanaid Clarke, McCann FitzGerald Chair of Corporate Law, was one of the contributors who worked with Euronext and was instrumental in the drafting of this Code which retains the best practices from the UK Code but is tailored for the Irish market. The provisions of the Code will apply to Irish incorporated companies with an equity listing on Euronext Dublin for financial years commencing on or after 1 January 2025.
