Climate Change and Migration Symposium
Climate Change and Migration Conference: Thursday, 2 May 2024, Trinity Long Room Hub, 9.00am - 5:30pm.
Summary
The symposium aims to develop a nuanced and multidisciplinary perspective on such legal issues. Situated in a broader context of climate justice, the symposium will bring together scholars across disciplines, including law, geography, political science and sociology. In the face of a changing climate and environmental degradation, significant political, social and economic change is required globally. In some countries, parts or whole areas of their territory may become uninhabitable. In other countries, migrant workers are employed in industries, such as agriculture, that are increasingly affected by climate change. The event is supported by the TCD Trust and the FAHSS Events Fund. The Symposium is organised by a group of PhD researchers at the School of Law, Emily Cunniffe, Inji Mammadli, Morgiane Noel, and Maryam Yabo, with the support of Surya Roy and Christiane Ahlborn.
The symposium is convened at Trinity College Dublin, School of Law, on Thursday, 2 May 2024 in the Neil Theatre (Trinity Long Room Hub).Queries should be directed to Morgiane Noel at mnoel@tcd.ie
