What is Photoshop? Why use learn how to use it?
Photoshop is an image editing tool which you can use to create, edit, and manipulate various graphics.
Explore all of the essential Photoshop tools and techniques to get started making your images and projects look really great. You'll start at the beginning - navigating the workspace, opening and saving files - and quickly work your way to more exciting tools and techniques - image retouching, colour adjustments, and creating irregular text shapes.
You don't need to be a graphic designer nor be a photographer to take this course, but you do need access to Adobe Photoshop on your computer.

- Opening a new file and setting project dimensions
- Overview of Photoshop workspace
- Resizing and cropping images
- Overview of layers and auto-adjustments
- Overview of colour adjustments
- Basics of working with selection tools
- Setting up rulers and guide lines
- Working with the Text (Type) tool
- Image retouching with the Clone Stamp tool and Content-Aware
- Working with irregular text boxes and creating Paths
- Brief overview of Trinity Identity: using the Trinity logo and branded colours
Delivery Style
This training is approximately an hour and a half long and is hosted online via Blackboard Collaborate. At the end of the session, there will be time for questions regarding any of the material presented during the demonstration.
