This Cyber Security Week 2025, we are focussing on the key areas that impact all of us in the Trinity College Dublin community — data privacy, phishing awareness, and mandatory Data Protection and Cyber Security training.

Data Privacy Day is Tuesday, 28th January 2025
To mark Data Privacy Day, we will raise awareness about the importance of protecting personal data. This global event reminds us of the need to stay informed about how our data is collected, used, and shared. It’s a great opportunity to reflect on the measures you can take to protect your privacy online.

Phishing Awareness and on-going phishing simulations
Phishing attacks remain one of the most common cyber threats. To help protect you from these attacks, we’ve been conducting phishing simulations to improve your ability to recognise and respond to phishing attempts. These exercises are designed to provide practical learning opportunities, and we encourage you to treat them as part of your ongoing cyber security education.

New Data Protection and Cyber Security training module
New online data protection and cyber security training for all staff members will be launched this week. You will receive an email this week from the Data Protection Officer containing links to log in to the training.

We kindly request that all staff complete the training by no later than 28 February 2025.
