Due to a global change that Microsoft is rolling out, Trinity account holders who use the phone text verification code option to complete their "Two Step Sign-In", may notice that the text message verification codes are sent to their WhatsApp instead of the traditional text messaging application on their device.
The verification codes may come from a WhatsApp account titled "Microsoft" or "Global OTP Service".
An example of the text messages to WhatsApp is shown below.
If you have just signed in to your account and are expecting a text verification code to be delivered to your phone, if that code is sent to your WhatsApp account from the above senders you can consider it a genuine message.
If you prefer to no longer receive phone text verification codes, you should change your sign-in method to use the Microsoft Authenticator app instead.
More details about configuring Two Step Sign-In are available on our webpage.
