As part of Trinity College’s standard module management practice and in order to maximise our online storage capacity within Blackboard VLE, IT Services will be removing older modules from Blackboard VLE.
What will happen?
Any modules which were created in Blackboard over 5 years ago for the academic years 2014-2015, 2015-2016, and 2016-2017 will now be removed from Blackboard.
We have taken an archival backup of these modules and have stored them in a local offline storage area. This means that any module removed from Blackboard, from the years specified above, can be restored if necessary.
When will this take place?
We will begin this process from the start of business on Monday, 27th February, 2023.
What do I need to do?
You shouldn’t need to do anything. However, if you believe you have some active content from modules from the academic years as specified above, then you should take action before the removal date to move or copy that content to a more recent module or save the content in your own secure storage location outside Blackboard for safekeeping.
If you have any questions, please contact the IT Service Desk.
