Wolfram are hosting Mathematica training sessions on Thursday 9th March 2023 in Trinity, available to all Trinity students and staff free of charge.

You'll have the opportunity to attend both introductory training as well as a hands-on session.

Mathematica Introductory Training

In this session you will learn how to use Mathematica's powerful statistical analysis tools and state-of-the-art symbolic and numerical computation in your workflow. Three sessions will be available throughout the day on Thursday 9th March at different locations on campus. Each session will cover the same material and include time to ask questions and discuss your own research problems with the lecturer.

Further information

Mathematica is an integrated environment for scientific and engineering computation. It is available to all students and staff at Trinity College Dublin.

The session will introduce the technology and teach you how to apply it to your own research problems. It will start with the basics of Wolfram Language (assuming no prior knowledge) and a brief introduction to the breadth of available computation, from PDE modelling to network analysis and from image processing to time-series analysis.

Specific areas that will be covered in sufficient depth for practical application will include statistics, machine learning, visualization, as well as writing high-performance, robust code and deploying interactive computational applications.

Hands-on Mathematica Training

Further information

Designed to give the opportunity to learn first-hand how to use Mathematica in your workflow, this instructor-led session introduces core technologies for getting started quickly with the Wolfram technology stack.

Learn to work with Wolfram Notebooks in the cloud as well as on your desktop and familiarize yourself with the syntax and programming fundamentals of Wolfram Language. No prior experience with Wolfram Language is required.

How to access the Mathematica software
