From August 2023 ArcGIS Desktop (ArcMap) is being retired and so this product will no longer be included in Trinity’s site-wide deployment of ArcGIS. ArcGIS Pro will then be the main desktop GIS software available in Trinity under our CHEST agreement with ESRI.

ArcGIS Pro offers many benefits including improved performance and integrated 3D visualisations. It also has a clear development plan with enhanced features being added every 6 months. Students will benefit from having ArcGIS Pro on their CVs as Pro is now the main desktop GIS software being used in industry.

Preparing for the move to ArcGIS Pro

If you use ArcMap in teaching it is very important that you now start to plan your migration away from ArcGIS Desktop (ArcMap).
