How does this impact me?

This new Research Support System (RSS) has an improved design to make it more user friendly. There is no significant change to how you will use the new RSS and you will continue to be able to maintain and update your research profile as before.

For the time being, the original RSS will still be available via https://tcdlocalportal.tcd.ie/pls/webapps/cerif.cerif_launcher.main. We will update you when this changes.

What do I need to do?

We encourage you to start using the new RSS to update your profile, which can be accessed directly via rss.tcd.ie.

There is no need to reinput data you have previously entered into the original RSS as your content is available in the new system as well. Likewise, any edits you make within either system will be reflected in both.

Do I need to register for the new RSS?

If you have previously used the original RSS you are already registered with the new system. If you are a new user, you will automatically register the first time you log in via rss.tcd.ie. Should you run into any difficulties accessing the system, please contact rssadmin@tcd.ie.

Is there training available for the new RSS?

A self-paced module called Research Support System and TARA Training is available on Blackboard. The module will guide you through how to use the new RSS system. You can self-enrol in Blackboard (mymodule.tcd.ie) by searching for the module code “rss_tara”.
