IT services available to staff from off-campus
Trinity staff email service
The Microsoft 365 email & calendar service for staff can be used to receive and send email from your Trinity email address. There are also other services such as OneDrive for online/cloud storage.
Personal filestorage
All Trinity staff have an allocation of 100MB of Personal Filestorage in the form of a folder on a central 'quota' server which can be accessed from any computer with an internet connection. Using Personal Filestorage is a more secure method of accessing work related files and data than copying files onto a memory key and transferring them between computers.
Library resources
The Library catalogue and online databases can be accessed by signing in to your Library account.
Research Support System (RSS), Telephone System, Asset Register, University Register
The TCD web systems page provides access to the the Research Support System (RSS), Telephone System, Asset Register and University Register.
IT Service Desk
By signing in to assist.tcd.ie with your Trinity computer account credentials you can submit a request to the IT Service Desk, check previous requests or update current requests.
Blackboard VLE
Blackboard (mymodule.tcd.ie) is TCD's web-based Virtual Learning Environment that allows teaching staff to create and host course materials online. These materials can serve as entire online courses or, as is usually the case in TCD, supplement traditional classroom courses.
What is the College VPN and when it might be required?
The College Virtual Private Network (VPN) creates a secure connection over a public network. VPN ensures that College network security policies are applied when you are working off-campus. You need VPN connection to access College resources that are protected.
