InfoMatDesign, developed by Stefano Sanvito from TCD Physics and CRANN, addresses the significant challenge of material-discovery digitalization, which requires vast amounts of data. With over 0.5 million materials articles published annually, the information is highly scattered, making it difficult to harness effectively. InfoMatDesign offers a solution through the use of Natural Language Processing (NLP) to extract and organize materials data and market intelligence. This system aims to gather valuable insights from diverse sources such as tables, PDFs, and other documents, enabling more efficient data analysis and application in materials design and market strategies. The project plans to expand NLP capabilities, partner with industry stakeholders, and focus on customer development and market analysis to enhance its impact.
