Advertising a Vacancy
All posts must be advertised to ensure transparency and for equal opportunity.
Academic and senior management positions are normally advertised internationally, to attract the most suitable and qualified candidates. The closing date for applications will be agreed between the Recruitment Partner and the Hiring Lead. For academic appointments, which require an international search, 6 weeks is considered the norm. Otherwise, closing dates are a minimum of two weeks from date of advertisement.
Principal Investigators’ are encouraged to liaise with the Recruitment Partner for their Faculty to ensure that their advertisements follow best practice guidelines and appear on as many appropriate media as possible.
Costs incurred or advertising of Research appointments are funded by the research project. Costings can be obtained for publications upon request from the Resourcing team.
In line with University policy posts may be advertised internally, externally or both, see Appendix 3 of the Recruitment Policy.
