Dean's Research Initiatives Fund
In 2015-16 the Faculty of Health Sciences launched its inaugural Research Initiatives Fund, which is specifically designed to support new and innovative research that will enhance Trinity College's and the Faculty of Health Sciences' ability to compete for large-scale, interdisciplinary, single- and multi-investigator extramural awards. The fund aims to advance the research priorities of Trinity College's Strategic Plan, to raise the national and international profile of the University and to increase receipt of Horizon 2020 and HRB awards and other funding.
A high volume of quality applications were received from across all four Schools in the Faculty, and each of the five research focus areas of the award were represented. There were a number of strong proposals led by Ussher professors and other early career researchers and the panel sought to recognize and encourage this particular development. It is with great pleasure that we announce the eight winners of the 2015-16 Faculty of Health Sciences' Research Initiatives Fund:
