Professor Vivi Vajda is a scientist, a paleontologist and chair of the Paleobiology Department at the Swedish Museum of Natural History in Stockholm She uses microscopic fossilized pollen, spores, and algae but also macro plants to examine how individual species and entire ecosystems have been affected by mass extinctions, presently focusing on the end Permian and end Triassic and end Cretaceous extinction events.
