Facilities
The accommodation in the Discipline of Geography includes:
- the discipline library (Freeman Library)
- teaching, research, physical geography and computing laboratories
- lecture theatres
- seminar rooms
as well as the discipline main office, staff rooms and well equipped postgraduate rooms.
Laboratories and Field Equipment
The Discipline of Geography is active in lab and field research and teaching. The laboratories and field storage facilities are housed in the Museum Building. The department has a range of laboratories suitably equipped for:
- fundamental sediment, soil and plant analyses
- specialised ecological, palynological, meteorological, fluvial, hydrological and surveying work.
The discipline holds a large array of field equipment including equipment used for sediment coring, surveying and for various sediment and plant analyses. The discipline also houses a number of storage facilities for field and laboratory samples.
