Early Career Researchers
Following a suggestion from postdocs and PhD students to have an outlet for early career researchers to meet, discuss their research, listen to speakers from outside their own area, the Early Career Researchers group was founded. There are regular (monthly) sessions where researchers from both of our departments present on their work and get feedback from their peers in an informal manner. This has proved to be very popular among our postgraduate students and postdoc staff. Each sessions ends with a session! The School provides beer and pizza after each event to encourage further discussion and socialisation among our ECRs. Check your emails for information on the next session!
We are looking to set up a small group/committee who will help with the organising of these meetings. With a group, we can then also look into potentially arranging other events that might be of interest to this cohort.
