Gradaim shuntasacha bainte amach ag Cumann Gaelach Choláiste na TríonóideDon dara bhliain as a chéile, tá príomh-ghradam bainte amach ag Cumann Gaelach Choláiste na Tríonóide i gcomórtas náisiúnta uile-oileánda Ghlór na nGael mar an cumann mac léinn is fearr sa tír. Tá luach €2,000 ar an duais seo, atá urraithe ag an Roinn Oideachais agus Scileanna. Fógraíodh torthaí an chomórtais seo oíche Shathairn seo chaite. Tháinig sé seo ar na sála ar ghradam eile- chuala An Cumann Gaelach gur bhain sé amach an gradam do Feachtas Teanga na Bliana ag gradaim mac léinn Aontas na Mac Léinn in Éirinn an tseachtain seo chaite. Bronnadh an gradam seo i leith fhéile Ghaeilge an Choláiste, Éigse na Tríonóide. Dúirt Andrew King, Reachtaire an Chumainn i 2012-2013: “Tá sé go hiontach go bhfuil an t-aitheantas tugtha dúinn anois, i ndiaidh na sár-oibre atá déanta againn i mbliana. Ba mhaith liom mo bhuíochas a ghabháil leis na baill agus leis an gcoiste go léir.” Dúirt Aonghus Dwane, Oifigeach Gaeilge an Choláiste: Déanfar ceiliúradh ar na gradaim seo ag An Chéadaoin @ An Bhutrach maidin Chéadaoin 24 Aibreán, le ceol, caife agus comhrá i mbialann TCD: 10.30rn-11.30rn. Beidh fáilte is fiche roimh chách bheith inár dteannta. Tuilleadh eolais: Tá an Cumann Gaelach ar ceann de na cumainn mac léinn is mó i gColáiste na Tríonóide. Prestigious awards scooped by Trinity College’s Cumann Gaelach
For the second year in a row, Trinity College’s Cumann Gaelach has scooped the top award for best Irish language student society in the all-island competition run by Glór na nGael. The prize fund is €2,000, sponsored by the Department of Education and Skills. Andrew King, Reachtaire (auditor) of An Cumann Gaelach in 2012-2013, said: Aonghus Dwane, Irish Language Officer in Trinity College, said: “These awards are a tribute to, and demonstration of, the passion, energy and commitment to the Irish language evident among An Cumann Gaelach’s membership- something that is strongly witnessed year after year.
These awards will be celebrated at the Wednesday @ The Buttery event on Wednesday morning April 24th, with coffee, music and chat in Trinity’s restaurant, from 10.30 to 11.30am. All are most welcome to this gathering. Further information: An Cumann Gaelach is one of the largest student societies on campus. Founded in 1908, many illustrious personages have been associated with it down through the years.
