As part of their 67th TCD reunion, we welcomed John Watson and his fellow graduates of Civil Engineering, Class of 1957, back to campus. Each year John organises a reunion, with classmates flying in from all over the World and each year there is a Civil Engineering theme to their outing.

This year a visit to the Rubrics was top of their list.

Project manager, Pat Griffin, gave a talk on the restoration and conservation project in the Alumni Office and led the group of 6 across campus for a tour of the Rubrics which included a visit to the ground floor library and one of the guest rooms. The group then walked around to New Square where Pat explained how the ground source heating for the Rubrics works and how it is now located under the Pavilion.

The group was delighted with the guided tour and raved about their visit on their way to lunch.

Thanks to Joanna in the Accommodation Office for facilitating access to the guest apartment.

Special thanks to Pat for making time to act as tour guide for the morning.
