EDI Office ~ Claire Marshall
Claire is the Equality Officer, and works to promote equality and non-discrimination for Trinity staff, students and the wider Trinity community, in all areas of university life and with particular regard to the protected grounds in equality legislation. She has extensive experience of coordinating and participating in European projects in the area of gender equality and structural change, having project managed the SAGE (Systemic Action for Gender Equality, 2016-19) project, as well as partnering in the FP7 INTEGER (INstitutional Transformation for Effecting Gender Equality in Research) and other projects. Claire is Secretary to the Equality Committee, and represents Trinity on the National Advisory Committee on Sexual Harassment and Violence in Third Level Education, and the Irish Universities Association Equality Network. Previously, Claire worked with the National Women’s Council of Ireland on a successful national campaign to increase the numbers of women in political life in Ireland. She has a degree in English Literature and Russian, and an M. Phil from Trinity where she completed a thesis on the representation of women in contemporary popular cinema.
