Equality, Diversity and Inclusion at Trinity
All staff, students and visitors have a role to play in making Trinity an inclusive and egalitarian community.
Trinity has a well-established and fundamental focus on proactively ensuring that the university is a safe, inclusive, and diverse community where all our staff, students, and visitors are encouraged to thrive. This goal is woven throughout all aspects of College life, from high-level strategy to the basic day-to-day operations of each role. The Provost highlighted this in 2022 saying “Our shared values are clear: Equality, Diversity and Inclusion must be the bedrock underpinning and informing all of what we do in Trinity.”
This mandate is enabled by a framework of relevant policies and best practice at all levels – local, institutional, sectoral, national, and EU-level. Across Trinity's community of 25,000 + staff and students there is a strong and mutually supportive system which works to put those inclusive values to practice in every aspect of Trinity life. The EDI Unit is responsible for driving a cohesive overall approach to sustaining those goals by working with a range of staff, projects, and activities both directly related to our office as well as work focused in other parts of Trinity which contributes to a supportive environment.
