Developed in conjunction with TENI, QSoc and Trinity-INC, this workshop on Trans and Non-Binary Awareness will be led by two Trinity-INC Student Partners, Mac Sizeland and Ranjani Iyer.

This workshop is ideal for all Trinity staff who would like to learn more or to refresh their knowledge about Trans and Nonbinary issues and how the Trinity community can be more inclusive when interacting with our Trans and Nonbinary students.

Mac and Ranjani are happy to address any questions attendees may have - you can either note them when registering or ask on the day.

Workshop 2: 11th March 2024 - Disability Awareness in Higher Education

Venue: Global Room

Session 1 - 13:00-14:00 For academic and other teaching staff

Session 2 - 15:00-16:00 For support services and professional staff

This workshop, run by Jen O’Connor, a Disability Officer within Trinity’s disAbility Hub, will explore the themes of disability awareness and acceptance. Presenting insights gathered from students within the service, and her own personal experience, Jen will lead an open and welcoming conversation about the challenges staff may face when seeking to support disabled students within their classrooms and services and offer student-led solutions. The primary aim is to illuminate the experiences of disabled students and highlight an alternative perspective from which staff can view difference and encourage inclusivity within their increasingly intersectional cohorts.

Workshop 3: 27th March 2024: Inclusive Language

Time: 16:00-17:00

Venue: Global Room

To conclude our workshop series, Master’s in Comparative Social Change student, Beatrice Meztler, who has over 12 years' experience working in a large multinational corporate setting, will facilitate a workshop on how to review one’s own existing language for problematic terminology and take a people-centre approach to language. She will present a useful framework that can help you to become more inclusive through the language you use.
