Workshop 2: 11th March 2024 - Disability Awareness in Higher Education
This workshop was run by Jen O’Connor, a Disability Officer within Trinity’s disAbility Hub, and explored themes of disability awareness and acceptance. Presenting insights gathered from students within the service, and her own personal experience, Jen led an open and welcoming conversation about the challenges staff may face when seeking to support disabled students within their classrooms and services and offer student-led solutions. The primary aim is to illuminate the experiences of disabled students and highlight an alternative perspective from which staff can view difference and encourage inclusivity within their increasingly intersectional cohorts.
