| Charlotte Buckley's research is situated at the intersection of literary criticism and practice. Her PhD project takes two approaches. The thesis offers an ecofeminist reading of poetry by Colette Bryce, Caítriona O'Reilly and Jessica Traynor. The creative work takes the form of a poetry collection which explores how language can function as resistance and how the lyric might be read as activism in the face of these twin crises. |

As the first literary mapping of African American hair, the project examines cultural, material, and aesthetic representations across movements such as the Harlem Renaissance and Black Power, contributing to the emerging field of hair studies. |
