The festival featured 11 productions of Shakespeare’s plays, including Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, Coriolanus, Macbeth, The Tempest, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream, by ensembles from Ukraine, Moldova, Italy, and Poland. In the academic portion of the festival’s programme, Dr Vyroubalová presented on panels focused on European translations of Shakespeare and Shakespeare at times of war. The organizers managed to put together the rich programme despite the considerable challenges posed by the ongoing aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
