Trinity College Dublin's School of Engineering is excited to announce the upcoming final workshop of the REDMAP project, which will take place on March 14th, 2023 at 10 am at Tangent in Trinity College Dublin. The REDMAP project is a collaborative effort between Trinity College Dublin, University College Dublin, and Ricardo Energy & Environment, with sponsorship from the EPA-Ireland and the Department of Transport.
The REDMAP project measured real-world emissions using remote sensing (RS) and Portable Emission Measurement Systems (PEMS) in Dublin City. The project aimed to address the discrepancy between estimated emission levels based on Euro emissions standards and type-approval tests and real-world emission levels from in-use vehicles. Emissions from real-world driving are often higher than estimated, which impacts air quality in cities.
To address this issue, the REDMAP project measured, modelled and projected real vehicular emission levels of key pollutants, including NO, NO2, PM, and ammonia, from in-use vehicles in Dublin. The results of this project have important implications for air quality in Dublin, which will be discussed in detail at the upcoming workshop.
The workshop is open to anyone with an interest in the field of air quality and traffic emissions and will be a hybrid event, allowing both in-person and online participation. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the innovative work being done to improve air quality in Dublin and hear from experts in the field about the implications of the REDMAP project results.
Final Workshop: Measuring, Modelling and Projecting Real Vehicular Emission Levels of Key Pollutants from in-use vehicles in Dublin
Date: Tuesday 14th March
