Our Courses

Bachelor Degree in Engineering / Masters Degree in Engineering

BAI/MAI in Engineering

A career in Engineering is about co-operation, but also individual effort. Whether designing an aircraft, a suspension bridge, a microchip or a media player, it can take teams of hundreds of engineers working together. Throughout this course you'll learn to exchange ideas and co-ordinate efforts to achieve an overall project goal. However, each component of a project is the result of one individual’s engineering skill and imagination. Working well as an individual and learning how to form original ideas is an important aspect of the course.

During the first two years of the degree programme, students share the same foundation courses, to develop a core understanding of Engineering. In the 3rd and 4th years and optional 5th (masters) year, you have the option to choose your preferred stream:

  • Biomedical Engineering
  • Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering
  • Computer Engineering
  • Electronic Engineering
  • Electronic and Computer Engineering
  • Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering

Bachelor Degree in Engineering with Management
Masters Degree in Engineering with Management

BSc/MAI in Engineering with Management

Combined with a good grounding in business skills, you'll be in a position to compete for sought after jobs in the commercial and financial world. Whether you pursue a career in engineering consultancy, entrepreneurship, marketing or finance, the Engineering with Management degree at Trinity gives you the flexibility and diversity to keep your career options open to a wealth of possibilities and a bright and fulfilled future.

*NEW* Bachelor Degree in Environmental Science and Engineering
Masters Degree in Engineering or Environmental Science

BSc in Environmental Science and Engineering
MSc in Applied Environmental Science/MAI specialising in Environmental Engineering

The degree in Environmental Science and Engineering is a new integrated five-year course consisting of a four year BSc plus an additional year of study leading to either a Masters in Engineering (MAI) specialising in Environmental Engineering or a MSc in Applied Environmental Science. The course is taught by scientists in the School of Natural Sciences and engineers from the School of Engineering. It arises from a unique collaboration between two leading Trinity Schools that have expertise across a wide range of subject areas from Environmental Science to Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering and is one of the first of its kind in Ireland and internationally.

The degree structure is designed to provide for the needs of students with an interest in these emerging, multi-disciplinary professional and academic fields. The course provides students with a fundamental grounding in natural sciences and engineering, and in the applied skills required to develop sustainable solutions for major societal and environmental challenges.

The BSc /MAI/MSc degree programme is based on two foundation years of environmental science and engineering modules, providing students with a firm grounding in the principles common to both disciplines, followed by three years of specialisation (in either environmental science or environmental engineering). The programme offers students the opportunity to tailor their degree in accordance with their academic results, interests, aptitudes and emerging career aspirations.
