Biography

Sharon is Teaching and Learning Development Officer at the Curriculum Development Unit, City of Dublin Education and Training Board and brings over 20 years’ experience as a teacher, school leader and teacher educator. Sharon served as Deputy Principal within City of Dublin ETB having previously held the role of National Team Leader for Post Primary Subjects and Programmes with the Professional Development Service for Teachers (PDST) from 2017- 2022. Sharon led a national team of advisors and associates across successive national roll-outs to support curriculum change, with primary responsibility for supporting the professional learning of teachers and school leaders across Economics, Business, Politics and Society, Leaving Certificate Applied and Leaving Certificate Vocational programmes. Sharon is also a facilitator within the Teaching and Learning for the 21st Century Professional Development Programme (TL21), Maynooth University. As part of the programme, she works with teachers and school leaders to explore innovative pedagogic practice and professional learning communities within post-primary schools. Sharon has also worked as a post primary teacher within Dublin and Dun Laoghaire ETB since 2003 and holds an M.Ed. in Innovative Teaching and Learning and a Professional Diploma in Educational Leadership.
