Mark McDonald is Director of Schools at Dublin and Dun Laoghaire Education & Training Board (DDLETB). He was previously Director of Schools with City of Dublin ETB. Mark came to the role of Director with 12 years' experience of working as a senior leader in education. He brings his experience of being Deputy Principal of Luttrellstown Community College; Principal of Firhouse Community College; and founding Principal of Swords Community College. Mark is passionate about distributed leadership and has many years' experience of working with middle leaders and emerging leaders. He believes that the development of positive working relationships within school communities is key to successful learning environments, ensuring the learner is at the centre of the learning experience.
