Teaching Council and NIPT presentation

The School of Education were delighted to welcome Jean Harrington from the Teaching Council and Eileen Walsh from the National Induction Programme for Teachers (NIPT) to provide a joint presentation to PME Year 2 and B.Mus. Ed. Senior Sophister students on the 14th March Lecture Theatre EE3, East End 4-5. The presentation focused on the role of the Teaching Council, the Code of Professional Conduct, Cosán and Fitness to Teach, the role of the NIPT, an introduction to the induction process, the Droichead policy and supports available to NQTs. The presentation also addressed the initial registration process for final year students. After the presentation, students had an opportunity to ask questions in a question-and-answer session.
