There were celebrations this week at Trinity College Dublin as eight talented students graduated from the Certificate in Arts, Science and Inclusive Applied Practice at the Trinity Centre for People with Intellectual Disabilities (TCPID) in the School of Education.
The graduates - James Conlan, Jodie Daly, Oscar Daly, Conor Dunne, Liam Foley, Jack McFadden, Cliodhna O’Rourke and Diarmuid Owens - completed 18 modules over two years of full-time study.
All eight are currently doing internships with TCPID’s business partners.
TCPID aims to promote the inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities in education and society. The TCPID curriculum offers students a high academic standard of learning.
The course objective is to realise the full potential of the students with intellectual disabilities. It helps develop a broad range of skills, including preparing graduates to work in diverse employment settings and helping students with the independent living skills needed to become full participants in Irish society.
