Dr Amanda Heffernan, Senior Lecturer in Education, Manchester Institute of Education (University of Manchester), will visit the School of Education in Michaelmas 2023. Amanda’s visit will involve a research-led day of teaching with M.Ed. Leadership and Policy students, two public seminars based on Amanda's extensive research on school leadership with education stakeholders, and development of a research project with Dr Gavin Murphy. Dr Heffernan's research focuses on the contemporary challenges of school leaders’ work, and what that means for how we can better attract, support, and keep leaders within the profession.
Amanda's visit is supported by the Faculty's Visiting Professorships and Fellowships Benefaction Fund.
