Dr Susan Murphy, Dr Joseph Roche, and Anna Mwakitalu represented the School of Education and the School of Geography at the launch of a new Gender Research Centre in Dar es Salaam University, Tanzania, on January 19th. The launch marked the conclusion of the Gender Awareness and Transformation through Education (GATE) Project, which is a partnership project between Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE) and Trinity College Dublin (TCD) designed to support the development of gender expertise and capacities in research and education at DUCE. Dr Susan Murphy is the PI of the GATE project which has funded Anna Mwakitalu to complete her PhD at the School of Education in Trinity under the supervision of Dr Roche and Dr Murphy.
