This session shares an emerging theatre-based project based on transatlantic narratives. It explores a culture’s resilience and its desire to hold on to its identity and language.
After providing some context to the project, a 10-minute performative monologue is shared. This is followed by a conversation with attendees.
George Belliveau is Professor of Theatre Education in the Faculty of Education, at the University of British Columbia, Canada, with a research focus on drama/theatre education. His latest co-edited book Contact!Unload: Military Veterans, Trauma, and Research-based Theatre (2020) explores a project with military veterans, artists and counselors. He is a trained actor, and former secondary school teacher.
