Join us for this exciting event that showcases examples of fostering a collaborative and reflective environment in schools (CaRE). CaRE is an Erasmus+ project that has developed strategies and resources to nurture the development of Communities of Practice, through co-planning, co-teaching, peer observation and TeachMeets. Access Maths is a pilot project run by TCD that focuses on improving the maths experience for students in secondary schools and uses many of the CaRE strategies to achieve this aim. This showcase will display examples of best practice from the CaRE and Access Maths projects.
During the showcase there will be opportunities to experience some of these strategies through a TeachMeet, workshops and teacher panels. A TeachMeet is an organised (but informal) meeting where participants are offered a variety of short presentations on various aspects of education. The panel and workshops will offer a choice of general themes as well as those focused on maths-specific topics. Lunch will be provided, and there will be a drinks reception to close.
Programme:
13:00 – Lunch
13:45 – Welcome
14:00 – TeachMeet, workshops and teacher panels
16:50 – Food, drinks, and networking reception
