A grant was recently awarded to fund collaborative work between Prof. Ailbhe Ní Chasaide and Prof. Neasa Ní Chiaráin of the Phonetics and Speech Lab and Dr Emily Barnes of the School of Education. The grant is to allow for the continued development of an Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) system for students on the autism spectrum in Irish-medium schools. The funding is from An Chomhairle Um Oideachas Gaelachta agus Gaelscolaíochta (COGG) and is worth just over €174,000.
