The Trinity College Dublin School of Engineering proudly announces the 2024 recipients of the prestigious Eric & Barbara Kinsella Scholarships. Six outstanding scholars were honoured at a celebratory reception attended by faculty, alumni, current and former scholars, and members of the Kinsella family and Esprit Investments, who have generously supported the programme since its inception in 2014.
This year’s recipients—Cormac Alfred, Julianne Cronin, Genevieve Flynn, Chingun Purevdondov, Conor Quinn, and Eoghan Táilliúir—were recognised for their academic excellence, leadership potential, and commitment to the field of engineering. The event celebrated not only their achievements but also the transformative impact of the Kinsella Scholarships on Trinity’s engineering community.

These scholarships empower talented individuals to excel academically and develop into leaders who will shape the future of engineering. We are deeply grateful to Eric and Barbara Kinsella and Esprit Investments for their unwavering support and vision.”
About the Eric & Barbara Kinsella Scholarships
Open to second-year students in the Engineering (BAI/MAI) or Engineering with Management (BSc(Ing)/MAI) programmes, the Eric & Barbara Kinsella Scholarships provide financial support to academically exceptional students who demonstrate significant promise. Applicants must have completed their first year with a minimum of a second-class honours.
Established in 2014 by Eric and Barbara Kinsella, the scholarships award €5,000 annually to each recipient for the remaining years of their degree, up to four years. This financial support enables students to focus on their studies, pursue research opportunities, and engage in extracurricular activities that enhance their academic and professional development.
Since its launch, the programme has awarded 47 scholarships, maintaining a cohort of at least 20 scholars at any given time. Many past recipients have achieved notable success in their careers and contributed significantly to engineering innovation, reflecting the profound impact of this initiative.
The Eric & Barbara Kinsella Scholarships stand as a testament to the transformative power of philanthropy, fostering academic excellence and shaping the future of engineering at Trinity College Dublin.
Congratulations to the 2024 Kinsella Scholars—your achievements inspire us all and demonstrate the remarkable potential of Trinity’s engineering community!
