Health Research Consent Declaration Committee (HRCDC)

Upcoming HRCDC meeting dates and submission deadlines (HRCDC and RDPO's office)

Tuesday November 12th 2024

    • Submission to HRCDC deadline: October 9th 2024
    • Submission to Research DPO deadline: September 25th 2024
Tuesday December 10th 2024

    • Submission to HRCDC deadline: November 6th 2024
    • Submission to Research DPO deadline: October 23rd 2024

Please note that the Secretary as authorised signatory to College, signs all HRCDC applications. The RDPO's office requires a two week window to review applications in advance of signature by the Secretary. See submission deadlines above, which we have put in place to mirror those of the HRCDC.

HRCDC Application

Please see below the steps to follow for a HRCDC application.

    1. PI completes a DPIA and submits to the RDPO's office for review. This step make take several iterations depending on the completeness and complexity of the submission.
    2. When DPIA process of review is complete. RDPO will provide the PI with a record of review.
    3. PI applies to the relevant ethics committee ( usually requiring evidence of DPIA review).
    4. PI completes HRCDC application and submits with all relevant documentation to RDPO.
    5. RDPO reviews all documentation. This step may take several iterations depending on the completeness and complexity of the application.
    6. When the review process is complete RDPO meets with Secretary for sign off.

Please note that the HRCDC will not accept any applications unless you have

    • evidence of DPIA review
    • provisional ethical approval and
    • the application has been signed by the Secretary and the RDPO.
