CRANN Investigators are drawn from across Trinity College Dublin and University College Cork from multiple disciplines including Physics, Chemistry, Pharmacy and Medicine. Recruited globally and the leaders in their respected fields, they assist in creating the interdisciplinary research environment needed for delivering world class nanoscience research. School of Physics
- Prof J.M.D. Coey An authority on magnetism and 2011 winner of the RDS/Intel Prize for Nanoscience.
- Prof Jonathan Coleman ERC Starter Grant holder and SFI Researcher of the Year 2011.
- Prof Graham Cross Research interests include nano-indentation and AFM.
- Prof John Donegan Research interests are in nanophotonics.
- Prof Martin Hegner Main focus in nanobiotechnology.
- Prof John Pethica Physical Sciences Secretary and Vice President of the Royal Society.
- Prof Stefano Sanvito Director of CRANN and head of the Computational Spintronics Group at TCD.
- Prof Prof Igor Shvets Professor of Applied Physics, Head of School of Physics and successfully spun out 3 companies.
- Dr Plamen Stamenov Research focus on nanomagnetism.
- Prof Hongzhou Zhang Research focus on Helium Ion Microscopy.
- Dr Ramesh Babu Padamati Research focuses on the development of polymer composites.
- Prof Mauro Ferreira Research focuses on the physical properties of nanostructures.

- Prof Siddarttha Sen Professor Siddharttha Sen is currently a part time Investigator in CRANN and associated with Trinity College Dublin, School of Physics. He was the former Head of the School of Mathematics in Trinity College Dublin.

- Prof John Boland Laureate of the 11th ACSIN Nanoscience Prize in 2011.
- Title Research interests include quantum dots, magnetic nanoparticles.
- Prof Valeria Nicolosi ERC Research Holder working in both TCD School of Physics and Chemistry.
- Dr Paula Colavita Understanding chemical processes at the molecular level.
- Dr Wolfgang Schmitt Activities include metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) for hydrogen storage applications.
- Prof Graeme Watson Leads the Computational Chemistry Group in the School of Chemistry.
- Prof Mike Lyons Research interests encompass Physical and Analytical Electrochemistry.
