Since its foundation in 2004, CRANN has obtained 200M of competitive funding from Government, Industry, the European Union and Philanthropy
Science Foundation Ireland (SFI)
SFI provided the initial seed funding for the building. All SFI awards go through an international external peer review process to ensure the funding of research of the highest quality.
Enterprise Ireland
CRANN works with Enterprise Ireland (EI) in building relationships with indigenous Irish companies. These relationships are built through state supported schemes like the innovation voucher programme and innovation partnerships. In addition we work with EI in the licensing and commercialisation of research developed within the Institute.
IDA
CRANN works with the IDA in helping to promote Ireland internationally as a location for research and development. We also partner with many IDA client companies including Intel, Hewlett-Packard and Boston Scientific. CRANN is a co-host with the Tyndall National Institute of the Competence Centre for Applied Nanotechnology which is supported by these agencies.
Higher Education Authority
CRANN also works closely with the HEA.The Higher Education Authority is the statutory planning and development body for higher education and research in Ireland.
Seventh Framework Programme
CRANN also obtains significant funding from the EU commission. CRANN is both an active partner and collaborator in EU FP7 projects.
