This course is offered subject to minimum registration numbers.

Russian is one of the six official languages of the United Nations and the eighth-most spoken in the world, with more than 150 million native speakers. Beyond the language, Russia has rich history and cultural and literary heritage.

The Department of Russian and Slavonic Studies within the School of Languages, Literatures and Cultural Studies is running language and culture courses in Russian at the Beginners, Lower Intermediate, and Intermediate/Advanced levels.

Date, Time, and Place

Courses run for 22 weeks, spread over two academic terms – Michaelmas (starting September) and Hillary (starting January). All classes take place in-person on Trinity's central campus.

  • Beginners: Tuesdays 7pm-9pm.
  • Lower Intermediate: Wednesdays 7pm-9pm.
  • Intermediate/Advanced: Thursdays 7pm-9pm.

Course Fees

€660 is the full-year rate. Payment by instalments of €350 per term is also possible.

This fee is non-refundable once the course has commenced.

Apply

You must be 18 years of age or older to enrol in the School of Languages, Literatures and Cultural Studies evening courses.

Intake of students will not be available in January unless applicants have necessary language levels to join a continuing group and with permission of the instructor and School administration.
